Mitt Romney's Stage for Election Night 2012 - Mystic Scenic Studios - Faux Artist
In this closeup you can see some of the faux grain details we gave the "cherry" veneer.
Each panel, curved panel, and frame for the digitally printed images began as MDF or luan, and needed to end up looking like cherry laminate.
A particular challenge was to smoothly faux grain the "cherry" around a curve, each piece was about 4'6" off the ground with a 6' wide footprint.

This Lion's Head became a fountain in a Boston University/ Opera Institute Production of Il Matrimonio Secreto
The lion's face and mane began as two separate pieces of foam, and were later attached with a strong spray adhesive designed specifically for foam.
Two-part spray foam was used to add extra dimension once the face and mane were attached.
After the foam was coated with several layers of a clay-glue-and-joint-compound mixture, paint was finally applied for color and then to add shadows and dimension.
